Arsenal’s battle to keep hold of one of their most important players is set to heat up in the coming weeks, amidst reports of major progress from a European giant.

The Sun, citing reports from France, indicates Alexis Sanchez has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain and the French giants are poised to make Arsenal an offer of £45m for the Chilean ace.

Arsenal are desperate for Alexis to stay in North London, with Arsene Wenger stating on numerous times the player would not be leaving, but the Gunners could find themselves in a difficult position if the two-time Copa America winner pushes for an exit.

Alexis has entered the final 12 months of his current deal and is reluctant to agree new terms, meaning Arsenal face losing their Player of the Year for nothing next summer- but that may appeal to fans, as they’d get another year of service from the South American.

Arsenal would certainly prefer to sell Alexis to a side abroad rather than see him move across the Premier League, where Pep Guardiola wants him at Manchester City, and it’s set to be a long few weeks for Gooners across the globe.
