The Englishman, who has seen minutes come few and far between so far this season, was handed the opportunity to show Unai Emery what he can bring to the team.

Emery made plenty of changes, Emile Smith Rowe making his full debut as one of nine players to come into the team as the likes of Mohamed Elneny, Bernd Leno and Alex Iwobi were given another chance to stake their claims for a place in the Premier League side.

The forward continued to cause the Championship side a number of problems and got a second just over 30 minutes later.

The Chilean left Arsenal for Manchester United in January and has yet to score a single goal this term.
