Arsenal and Chelsea are suggested to be monitoring Luke Shaw’s situation at Old Trafford with a view to sign him in the summer.

Shaw is out of contract at United at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, but Jose Mourinho has hinted that the 22-year-old left-back could be in line for a new deal.

The Manchester United defender has been out of favour under Mourinho for some time and could fancy his chances elsewhere.

Shaw has started just six league games this term and has been slated by his manager on several occasions regarding attitude and his weight.

The former Southampton defender, who arrived at Old Trafford for £27m in 2014 is suggested to have put contract talks on hold amid interest from the Gunners and Chelsea.

Arsenal recruited Sead Kolasinac last summer, but Arsene Wenger may be keen to sign another left-back following Nacho Monreal’s deployment as a regular centre-half.
