Arsenal have joined West Ham in the race to sign rising Bundelsiga star Martin Hinteregger.

The 27-year-old centre back has impressed for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season and is being tipped with a move to England.

Both London clubs have struggled at the back so far this season conceding goals aplenty (Arsenal 15, West Ham 17, respectively).

Hinteregger, who has won 43 caps for Austria, signed permanently for Frankfurt over the summer after impressing in a loan move from Augsburg in the second half of last season.

The Austria international has scored three goals in nine games for the German side this season as they sit seventh in the Bundesliga.

Although Arsenal brought David Luiz to the club in the summer, they still look light in the position.

Unai Emery is clearly not impressed with his current crop of centre-halves and according to the Sun, the boss desperate to sign another centre-back in January.
