Yesterday, started the journey of a long-lasting tradition, Myself, my old man and my girlfriend spend hours organising our new Panini sticker album for this years world cup. Whether it being being able to physically see the groups, figuring out a process to make it most effective, flicking through to see the Arsenal players (no Eze is a disgrace by the way.) This got me thinking. Who out of our boys will be busy during the summer, which ones have the chance to create history in North America.
Brazil:
The five time world champions have two Gooners in their final 26 man squad. These are being Gabi at the back and Gabi in attack. With Gabriel most likely going to start for the five time winners. Rightfully so by the way, the magnitude and effect Gabriel has had on the clubs first Premiership Title for 22 long years. A true legend and a the best centre half in the world. Who has earned the right to start for that Brazil team and I am sure he will have an amazing campaign. Secondly, Gabriel Martinelli has also been named under attackers. A very good and well deserved place by the way. Martinelli is lethal in knock out football. He has the sort of pace you need for tournaments. When he gets in behind there is no stopping him. We have seen this so many times this season. Bayern, Bilbao, Manchester City, once he gets in behind late in the game, he will score and he will win you games.
Belgium:
Belgium have one Arsenal player in the squad. Mr Matchwinner himself Leandro Trossard. I cannot express how good this man is. Time after time again, he has won games for us, got us late winners and dragged us out of the fire. He has all the ability, the dribbling, the vision, the crossing, the finishing and much more. I have no doubt he will have an amazing world cup and if Belgium go far, he will be a big part of it.
France:
The Rolls Royce William Saliba will represent the two time world champions and runners up at the previous World Cup. William Saliba is the second best centre back in the world. Only second to his Arsenal counterpart Gabriel. William Saliba has absolutely everything pace, power, technique. An absolute machine, a now Premier League winner. With him also representing one of the favourites, I would not be surprised if he returns to the Emirates with a World Cup Medal in August.
