Arsenal have already moved swiftly to bring Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac to the club on a free transfer and Arsene Wenger has confirmed two new players are set to join his senior side, although these moves will come from within.

The Gunners have experienced a wealth of success in recent seasons by promoting the likes of Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi to their senior squad, with the pair becoming regulars in recent campaigns, and Wenger has revealed two new names will join his side this summer.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, the French boss stated midfield pair Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be promoted to the senior squad this summer after impressing behind the scenes.

“We have some young players who will join the squad next season. Like Reiss Nelson, like Ainsley Maitland-Niles already. So they are two players.”

“So we have quality players who might have a chance next season and hopefully we will be able to do that again because that’s part of the DNA of the club as well.”

Nelson excelled with the U23 side last year and the 17-year-old attacking midfielder boasted 12 goals and six assists in 28 appearances across various youth levels, whilst Maitland-Niles has 12 senior appearances to his name after making his debut back in 2014 in the Champions League clash against Galatasaray.

It’s likely other fresh faces will also earn their stripes in the senior team next season, particularly when the Gunners kick-off their League Cup campaign, and the likes of Daniel Crowley, Ben Sheaf, Eddie Nketiah and Chris Willock looking to make an impression in the first-team.
