Arsenal have shown their willingness to go all-out this summer by parting with a club-record fee to land Alexandre Lacazette but that deal will be pennies in comparison to a fee that would be required to land one target.

France Football states Arsene Wenger is still pursuing the signature of Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe and has the funds to get a deal over the line, despite parting with a club-record sum in order to bring Lacazette to the club from Lyon.

The Gunners are one of many European giants chasing the services of Monaco’s 18-year-old forward and a fee of over £100m is likely to have to be offered in order to land the teenager, although Arsenal have certainly tried their hardest to lure the French international to the Premier League.

Fresh reports indicate that Arsene Wenger had a three-hour long meeting with Mbappe following France’s clash with England last month, where he attempted to persuade the teenager to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger reportedly assured Mbappe he would be a key-man in North London and stated he could emulate his idol Thierry Henry with a move to the Gunners, although the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich could make similar promises.

Crucially, Monaco don’t want to sell and it’s going to be difficult to secure a deal for Mbappe- but Arsenal have certainly tried their hardest.
