Arsenal have set a new unwanted record after their opening five matches this season.

The Gunners, who have failed to win any of their previous three in the Premier League have faced heavy criticism following their 2-2 draw with Watford on Sunday.

Stray Offside on Twitter revealed the north Londoners have faced nearly 100 shots at goal in just five games so far this season.

‘The worst team in Premier League history, Derby County (2007/08), only faced 82 shots in their first five games that year. Arsenal have faced 96. Banter FC are well and truly back.’

Meanwhile Unai Emery is now in the running to lose his job after just over a year in charge.

Former Arsneal captain Mike Arteta is the early favourite to become the next Gunners’ boss as the odds on Emery’s departure were slashed.

The current Gunners boss, 47, now stands at 6-4 with Ladbrokesto be out of his job by the beginning of next season.

Ladbrokes have put together a shortlist of potential replacements.

  • Mikel Arteta – 5-1
  • Patrick Vieira – 6-1
  • Freddie Ljunberg – 6-1
  • Massimiliano Allegri – 8-1
  • Brendan Rodgers – 10-1
  • Thierry Henry – 20-1
  • Arsene Wenger – 50-1
