Incoming Arsenal director of football Monchi has already started working on a number of summer signings at the club – and according to reports at Football.London, the Spaniard has already lined up one Arsenal target.
The Gunners have reportedly reached an agreement with Monchi, Roma’s current sporting director, who is expected to join this summer.
Monchi, who worked with Unai Emery at Sevilla is suggested to pushing to sign Nicolas Pepe.
Pepe has 17 goals and eight assists in all competitions for Lille this season, with the 23-year-old proving one of the breakthrough stars of this campaign.
He would be seen as a an upgrade on struggling stars like Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who just haven’t been consistent enough this season.
It would be a blow for Manchester United, however, who could also do with a signing like the Frenchman as a replacement for the out-of-sorts Alexis Sanchez.
