Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund chief Sven Mislintat.

The German had been headhunted by Bayern Munich this summer, but the Bundesliga champions failed in their attempts to appoint him as the club’s new technical director.

Mislintat has been instrumental in Dortmund’s most successful signings in recent years, developing a reputation as one of Europe’s top talent spotters.

The scout who has been in the role for Dortmund since 2009 is expected to replace Steve Rowley who is on the verge of leaving the club after 35-years.

A number of high profile players Mislintat has found include the likes of Robert Lewandowski (£3million), Shinji Kagawa (£300k from Cerezo Osaka), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12million) and Ousmane Dembele (£13million). All of which have helped Dortmund exponentially over the years.

Time will tell as to whether the 45 year-old can welcome a few more hidden talents to the Emirates.
