Arsenal could lure these two Southampton men to The Emirates in January

Arsenal secured safe passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the 17th consecutive season on Tuesday night, having come from two behind to beat Ludogorets 3-2 in Bulgaria, thanks to some mastery from one Mesut Ozil.

With qualification sorted with two games to spare, you would forgive manager Arsene Wenger for focusing his interests elsewhere, with a title challenge, the EFL Cup and the FA Cup still to consider alongside European commitments.

With a full schedule on the horizon, along with consistent performance needed if Wenger is going to taste success in his 20th year, reinforcements may well be needed in January.

One team who have arguably been a bogey team for the Gunners in recent seasons are Southampton, who visit the Emirates in the quarter final of the EFL Cup this season.

They have experienced a lot of change in recent years, climbing rapidly into European contention, but have also been shipping some top class players.

So, here are TWO Saints men who could make the move to The Emirates in January…

Virgil Van Dijk

The Dutch defender has gone from strength to strength since joining the Saints from Celtic last summer, having played every minute of Premier League action since the move.

He is one of the most impressive centre halves in the top flight and it won’t be long before the big boys come knocking, so strike early, Arsene.

Dusan Tadic

The Serbian is not the most consistent of performers, however, on his day he is unstoppable.

The former FC Twente man, who is equally as dangerous on the wing or in the hole, is never shy of an assist or two, and could provide quality depth should the fixtures rack up later in the season.
