William Saliba’s agent has been pictured in Manchester this weekend to fuel speculation that the Saint-Etienne defender could be set for a move to Old Trafford.

The 18 year-old had been on Arsenal’s radar with reports suggesting the Gunners were in pole position for his signature. However Unai Emery has no interest in loaning the youngster back to Saint-Etienne as the Ligue 1 outfit have requested.

It all means Manchester United are now favourites to sign Saliba who had an outstanding debut season in France, making 16 appearances for Jean-Louis Gasset’s side which finished fourth in Ligue 1.

Saliba’s agent Djibril Niang was spotted in one of the Manchester’s restaurants just yesterday.

Saint-Etienne have slapped a £26million price tag on the head of the young defender, and would ideally take the defender back on loan next season.

As an alternative, the Gunners have been linked with Sampdoria enforcer Joachim Andersen.
