Dayot Upamecano continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.
According to reports, Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Dayot Upamecano as RB Leipzig are now ready to sell the defender at the end of the season.
The centre-half was the subject of a summer bid from Arsenal, but Leipzig fended off the north Londoners advances.
Now, Metro Sport claim the Bundesliga outfit are ready to part with the 20 year-old for a cut-price.
That’s because Upamecano’s contract at Leipzig has a €100m release clause which reduces by €20m every year. Therefore, interested clubs would have had to spend €60m (£52m) to land Upamecano next summer.
After conceding captain Laurent Koscielny to Bordeaux, Arsenal turned to David Luiz to bolster their defence this season. Despite the Brazilian’s £8million arrival from Chelsea, Emery’s backline remains as inconsistent as ever.
