Barcelona have slapped a £46m asking price on Samuel Umtiti which could see Arsenal end their interest in the Frenchman.
Umtiti has been linked with a move to the Emirates for some time and Barcelona are now prepared to offload the World Cup winner.
The defender has been bumped down the pecking order at Barcelona, and both Manchester United and Arsenal are keen to capitalise on the situation.
Barca will demand around £46million for the 26-year-old, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Arsenal’s biggest fee for a centre-back is currently Shkodran Mustafi, who arrived for £35m from Valencia in 2016.
Mikel Arteta is in the market for a centre-back but the Gunners head coach will be working to a budget.
William Saliba is set to arrive in the summer, whilst Arsenal are also being linked with 18 year-old Bundesliga wonderkid Malick Thiaw – who’s available for an economical £7m.
