Arsenal won’t be signing James Rodriguez on loan or as a permanent transfer this window.

That’s the definitive message from Bayern Munich chief Hasan Salihamidzic.

The Sporting Director effectively waved off suggestions the Gunners will recruit the Colombian this month by stating that Bayern are to consider signing him on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

The Real Madrid playmaker is in the second of his two year loan at the Bundesliga champions – which could be made permanent next summer for £39.5million.

Rodriguez has hardly shone for the Bavarians this season – it’s three goals in eight Bundesliga appearances so far.

However, it appears the 27 year-old will have until the end of this season at Bayern to show his worth.

When asked if Bayern would purchase Rodriguez from Real Madrid , Salihamidzic responded: “We will look at the second half of the season and we will draw the right conclusions.”
