Arsenal have been handed a boost in the transfer window as a key figure in their side has committed his future to the Gunners, amidst speculation on his future.

Veteran defender Laurent Koscielny has been linked with a summer switch to Marseille, as the Ligue 1 side are ready to invest heavily this window following a lucrative take0ver- and their eyeing a return to the summit of French football.

The French outfit were reportedly ready to hand Koscielny a return to his homeland but the 31-year-old, who signed a new contract with Arsenal earlier this year, remains committed to Arsene Wenger’s side- telling French outlet Telefoot he has no intention of leaving.

“I have a contract with Arsenal, I even signed an extension last November until [June] 2020. I feel very good there.”

“I have always said that I was a Marseille fan when I was younger. When a mythical club like Marseille contact you, it is good. But will I sign for them? I have no idea at all.”

Koscielny is likely to remain a regular fixture in Arsenal’s starting XI next season, with the French defender set to be joined by Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal in a back-three; with Calum Chambers, Gabriel Paulista and Rob Holding providing alternative options.
