Konstantinos Mavropanos is reportedly set for his medical with FC Nurnberg TODAY.

The Gunners are set to send the 22-year-old defender out on loan to the German side after his struggles to nail down a place in the first-team.

Mavrapanos was recruited by Arsenal in 2017, arriving from Greek outfit PAS Giannina, but the defender has predominantly played for the under-23s during that time.

According to German source Bild, Nurnberg have won the race for his signature.

The Bundesliga 2 side are currently languishing in the relegation zone.

Despite the injury to Calum Chambers and with Shokdran Mustafi heading for the exit, it doesn’t appear Arteta deems the 22 year-old ready to start in the Premier League.

Arteta has revealed he is considering signing a defender in the January window.
