Arsenal face a fight to keep hold of top players this summer but there is willingness from the Gunners to do business in some aspects, according to reports.

The Daily Star states Arsenal are demanding £20m for midfielder Jack Wilshere, who faces an uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium as he enters the final 12 months of his contract with yet another injury and a lack of pre-season involvement.

Arsenal’s midfield depth means the 25-year-old may be seen as surplus to requirements and there has been reported interest from Italian outfit Sampdoria and fellow Premier League side West Ham, although the Gunners have bold demands.

A boyhood West Ham fan, Wilshere may see a move to the London Stadium as a chance to rebuild his promising career and add to his 34 England caps, as he aims to fight back in the coming months and potentially seal a spot in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

West Ham’s transfer plans don’t seem to incorporate the midfielder though and Arsenal’s demands may mean the Hammers reject the opportunity to make a move.
