Arsenal ran out convincing winners against Bournemouth as they scored four without reply, taking three points back to North London.
There were plenty of positives in a game the Gunners dominated with Kai Havertz scoring his first goal along with several impressive performances.
Taking 10 games for the Gunners since his summer arrival from Chelsea, Havertz calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to give his side a 3-0 lead minutes into the second half.
Bukayo Saka had put Arsenal ahead earlier in the game with a header from close range – just his second headed goal of his career – before Martin Odegard also netted from the spot shortly before the break. Ben White wrapped it up in the 93rd minute, sealing a routine win.
The Gunners were able to take full advantage of Manchester City’s defeat to Wolves on Saturday, with this win seeing Arsenal remain unbeaten in the Premier League.
They’ve taken 17 points from seven games in what has been a steady start for Mikel Arteta this season. The big concern though will be Saka limping off late in the game, which will no doubt raise concerns over his playing time.
Who stood out?
It was an impressive display where the vast majority of players impressed throughout the 90 minutes. The defence didn’t allow David Raya to come under pressure and he saved the one shot he did face from Ryan Christie.
The back four was comfortable and composed and made the right decision both on and off the ball at key times, particularly early in the game when Phillip Billing and Dominic Solanke had chances to break through snuffed by William Saliba and Gabriel.
Martin Odegaard tan the game in midfield, a superb cross into the box before Arsenal’s first and scored the second from the penalty spot. He was also fouled for the third and assisted White’s late header, an incredible display from the captain.
