Arsenal have been pipped against Bayern Munich yet again in the Champions League.

It is the third time in five season the teams have met in the last 16 and fourth in five if you include the group stages.

Arsenal fans will be grimacing but this may be the best chance of beating the German champions. Bayern have not been in the best of form this season, whilst The Gunners are unbeaten in the league since August.

It should also be noted that Arsenal will get the all important home second leg thanks to finishing top of Group A. Taking their opponents back to The Emirates for the second leg is a fixture that has eluded the Gunners in the last five seasons.

However, the ties will not be played until the middle of February therefore considering current form is unwise.

Arsenal’s group rivals Paris Saint-Germain have drawn Barcelona, so the Gunners’ first place finish still appears the more prosperous.
