Arsenal have pin-pointed signing a goalkeeper as their main priority this summer.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Daily Cannon), the Gunners are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring the situation of Jasper Cillessen.
However, Arsene Wenger’s side face a tough test to sign the Dutchman with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are monitoring his progress closely.
At 28, Cillessen could be lured by the prospect of more first team football. The ‘keeper with a release clause of €60m (approx £53m)is currently below Marc-André ter Stegen in the Barca pecking order.
As reported yesterday, the Gunners are also interested in signing Stoke City shot-stopper Jack Butland.
Arsenal would be an attractive option for the England international with the prospect of higher wages and European football.
A new goalkeeper could facilitate the departure of Petr Cech – the veteran is approaching 36 years-old and has been inconsistent this term.
