Arsenal had their annual first-team photoshoot at London Colney yesterday, where there was plenty of talking points following the sharing of the images on social media.

The photos confirmed that youngsters including Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson were in the senior squad for this season, whilst eyebrows were raised with the inclusion of Mathieu Debuchy- a player who has not featured for the Gunners for a long time.

Further questions were made regarding the absence of Santi Cazorla, who’s currently injured until the new year, and fans were quick to speculate on why the 32-year-old fan favourite was absent from the images- with some suggesting it meant he was out of the first-team frame.

However, Arsenal moved swiftly to address the questions on social media as they responded to a fan’s question on the whereabouts of the Spaniard, stating that the midfielder had returned to his homeland for a follow up appointment.

Cazorla has been left out of Arsenal’s 25-man squad for the Premier League due to his injury but is expected to make a return in the New Year, when the Gunners can make amendments to their selections.
