The agent of Napoli right-back Kevin Malcuit has dropped a hint that Arsenal have made contact with him in a bid to sign his client.

The defender has made 12 Serie A appearances so far this campaign.

Arsenal’s interest comes at a time where Unai Emery is struggling for options at the back. Hector Bellerin is sidelined with a serious knee injury, as is Rob Holding. Meanwhile, Laurent Koscielny (jaw) is a doubt for the following few matches and Sokratis (ankle) will be out of action until March.

The cash-strapped Gunners are looking for replacements, however, the agent of Malcuit, Bruno Satin, also made clear the defender is not for sale after he signed for the Italian giants from Lille just last summer in a transfer worth £10million.

Speaking to Italian radio station Radio CRC, via Calcio Napoli 24, Satin said: “There’s a London club that are looking for a right-back, they have asked about Kevin, but his stay at Napoli isn’t in discussion.”

Arsenal have just two days to bring in reinforcements before the transfer window slams shut.
