Arsenal are amongst the sides considering a swoop for Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard this summer, according to The Sun.

The England international has just one-year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and faces an uncertain future, as he has competition with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at the club, whilst the Red Devils continue to be linked with additional summer signings.

24-year-old Lingard could now emerge on the market, as United will be aware he could leave for nothing in 2018 and the England ace will be demanding first-team assurances if he is to extend is stay with Jose Mourinho’s side.

However, Arsenal will face stiff competition from Antonio Conte’s Chelsea– as the Italian boss believes Lingard has the ability to play as a wing-back or a forward in his customary 3-4-3 formation; which has torn the Premier League apart this season.

As both sides will have to negotiate with rivals Manchester United for a deal, the price for Lingard is likely to be high despite his contract situation- especially as he is a home-grown player.
