Arsenal have earmarked Kalidou Koulibaly as a top target for the summer, according to reports in Italy.

Arsene Wenger has been tipped to address his defensive woes and is claimed to be keeping an eye on the performances of the Napoli defender.

Italian outfit Calciomercato (via Birmingham Mail) say the Belgian could cost the Gunners £40m after establishing himself as a regular in Naples.

Koulibaly has scored four goals in 35 appearances for club and country this term, as Napoli sit top of the Serie A table, leading Juventus by a point.

Manager Maurizio Sarri is searching for the club’s first Serie A triumph in 28 years.

Arsenal’s interest in Koulibaly could see them opt out of a deal for Jonny Evans. The north Londoners had a £12m bid turned down by West Brom last month, but Evans could be available for as little as £3m should the Baggies get relegated.
