Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Jerome Boateng this January and the German has just given the Gunners the green light.
The Bayern Munich centre-back is struggling for match time this season and he has now told the club he wants to leave this month.
Bayern head coach Hansi Flick has told the defender he is not guaranteed first-team football.
Arsenal have reportedly offered Boateng an escape route, with Mikel Arteta desperate to bolster his defence.
Munich are looking for around £12million for the 31-year-old World Cup winner.
The Gunners though are said to face heavy competition from AC Milan for Boateng’s signature.
The Serie A club are looking for a central defender and are close to signing Simon Kjaer from Sevilla but still have ambitions to add another centre-back to their squad.
Gooners, would Jerome Boateng be a strong addition to the team? Let us know in the comments…
