Arsenal are considering stepping up their pursuit of Guingamp forward Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian.

Thuram, who operates as an attacking midfielder, has been a regular on a senior stage for some years now. It could be that he passes the 100-appearance mark at club level this season, with a second campaign having been opened at Guingamp.

The winger has found the net seven times in 24 appearances this term.

Marcus’ father and World Cup winner Lilian is the most capped player in the history of French football with 142 appearances to his name.

In a 17-year career, the dominant centre-half played for Monaco, Parma, Juventus and Barcelona.

Should Arsenal target his son, Marcus, they can expect to face heavy competition from Borussia Dortmund who the Metro say are also preparing a move.

Meanwhile has already been scouted by a host of European giants, with the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United sending scouts to watch his performances.
