Arsenal remain in the hunt for further signings in the transfer market and the Gunners now seem to face a huge battle to get their prime-target.

French outlet Le10Sport states Liverpool will enter the market for Arsenal’s prime-target Thomas Lemar in the transfer market if the Reds lose the services of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Arsene Wenger has seen three bids rejected for 21-year-old French international, the latest of which is reported to be around £44m, but Arsenal remain intent on getting their man and speculation is likely to persist until the end of the transfer window.

However, the potential emergence of Liverpool in the market could prove to be problematic for Arsenal as it could drive the price for Lemar higher in a bidding war, which is exactly what Monaco wanted at the start of the transfer window.

Lemar reportedly favours a move to the Emirates Stadium though, where he can link-up with compatriots Arsene Wenger, Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud, Francis Coquelin and Alexandre Lacazette, but Arsenal will have to pay a premium price for their man.
