The supporter backlash has continued following Arsenal’s 4-2 defeat and FA Cup exit on Sunday.
A number of senior players who started the match have been singled out for heavy criticism.
However, one relatively inexperienced pro was also the subject of choice words from Arsenal fans.
Rob Holding was manhandled from start to finish by Forest’s 18 year-old Ben Bereton. The striker who effectively ‘retired’ Per Mertesacker may have ended Holding’s hopes of becoming a first-team regular at the Emirates.
Some Arsenal fans certainly seem to think so.
Despite the ex-Bolton defender showing great promise towards the end of last season, Holding has fallen off the boil and out of favour at the Emirates.
