Mesut Ozil is now being tipped for a move to Barcelona.
The 29 year-old who is out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the season has so far refused to sign a new deal.
That being said, it appears the Gunners are willing to cash in on the midfielder in January in a bid to recoup some of the £42.5m they paid Real Madrid for Ozil back in 2013.
The Metro are reporting that the German has agreed a contract to join the La Liga giants. That’s despite regulations stating players are only free to begin pre-contract negotiations within six months of their current deals expiration.
Barcelona have also been informed that Arsenal would accept a bid of €20 million (£17.7m) for the Germany international.
It’s news that appears to have gone down well among Arsenal fans, who feared he would join Manchester United next summer.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say on Twitter…

If we are going to sell Ozil, please let it be too Barca. Messi x Ozil x Dembele is needed.

I'm okay with Ozil leaving for Barca in January. A player of his calibre really needs to end his career on a high. Not sure we're providing him that.

Regardless of the validity, Ozil to Barca makes sense for all parties concerned. #AFC

So Ozil is all but gone. I suspect he'll fit in at Barca. Less defensive responsibilities and more talented players, the kinda system Ozil strives in
