Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has received thousands of well-wishes from both Arsenal and Liverpool supporters.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed ‘the Ox’ to miss the entire 2018/19 season.
The midfielder suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Champions League semi-final against Roma at Anfield in April and there had been a lack of update on when his likely return would be.
He subsequently missed the World Cup, but had been aiming for a return in the new year.
However, it is now known that the 24-year-old is unlikely to feature in the upcoming campaign and is set to be sidelined for about a year.
Oxlade-Chamberlain departed Arsenal for £40m last summer after an overall disappointing spell at the Emiarates.
Last season saw the England international come of age. He became a regular in Liverpool’s midfield as the Reds finished fourth in the Premier League and just came up short to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
