If reports are correct, Alex Iwobi is finalising a new deal with Arsenal.
The 22 year-old, who represent Nigeria in this summer’s World Cup is entering his fourth campaign as a first team player at the Emirates.
Iwobi is suggested to be close to penning a deal that will keep him in north London until 2022.
He made his senior debut almost three years ago in October 2015 when he featured in the League Cup against Sheffield Wednesday and has since gone on to make 98 appearances across all competitions.
However, Arsenal fans are still waiting for the penny to really drop with the star, who is still young. Iwobi netted just three times in the Premier League last season in 26 matches.
Should he sign a new deal, he has a chance to push himself and show his quality under a new head coach in Unai Emery.
Yet Arsenal fans appear split on whether the Super Eagle is good enough.
Take a look at what they had to say on Twitter…

I will be happy for Iwobi to sign that contract. Personally, I think he can become a good CM under Emery. Even if he doesn’t, players like himself, Holding, Chambers etc won’t be sold for cheap since they are tied down on moderate wages. If sold right they will fund the rebuild.
