Arsenal are on the verge of signing Borussia Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, that could spell the end for Olivier Giroud’s Arsenal career.
The Frenchman who has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette will likely become the third choice striker should Aubameyang arrive.
Giroud has established himself as a world class plan B for the Gunners and is the Premier League’s second highest goalscorer from the substitutes bench (17), only second to Jermaine Defoe.
Arsenal are reportedly ready to sell him to Chelsea if the Blues are willing to match their £35m price-tag. Antonio Conte’s side recognise the hitman is desperate for regular game time ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
There’s been strong resistance from the Arsenal fanbase, who are fearful of losing Giroud to a Premier League rival after already allowing Alexis Sanchez to join Manchester United.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say on Twitter…
But if Giroud goes, we riot!

Giroud is the best French striker this club has ever had, will be devastated if he goes.

I’ll be sad if Giroud leaves, especially for Chelsea

I will be sad if giroud leaves #afc but he will be the 3rd choice striker if PEA signs. So it’s what would be best for him and his career just please don’t sell another player to a team we should be challenging against
