With the North London derby on the horizon, Arsenal and Tottenham fans are becoming fidgety.
Saturday’s early kick-off sees both sets of fans desperate to see their sides take the bragging rights.
Gooners are keen to reestablish their dominance over Spurs, while Mauricio Pochettino’s side are aiming to prove their is a genuine power shift taking place.
One player who Arsenal fans have been calling for weeks to be given his chance is Jack Wilshere.
The 25 year-old is currently being restricted to domestic cup and European starts, but many believe he is ready to anchor the midfield. It comes at a time when Granit Xhaka has come under scrutiny for poor performances of late.
Speaking on what Wilshere needs to do in order to regain a place in the England team, Arsene Wenger said: “He has to keep fit and work hard, and that is what he does at the moment” (via Sky Sports).
“The creative aspect of his game certainly is a big asset for him (Southgate).”
First and foremost, the Englishman needs to be afforded starts in the Arsenal first-team. And Arsenal fans are keen to see Wilshere’s first start this season come in Saturday’s derby.
