I have so much time for Arsene Wenger hardly giving the press in England any real stories with his quotes etc but then giving the media outlets abroad the juicer quotes and stories that they’re after; it’s brilliant.

Speaking as a pundit on beIN Sports, Le Professeur was asked about Real Madrid’s impressive defender Raphael Varane, Wenger said:

“If he doesn’t get injured, Varane will be France’s number one defender at Euro 2016,”

“He is still young, though, and he needs to play regularly at Real Madrid.

“At his age, he still makes mistakes that could cost the team goals.”

Whatever your thoughts on Wenger, I’m always fascinated and interested in his comments on events/players that don’t have any relation to Arsenal as it allows him to be less defensive, more open and you see a side to the great man he’s lost more and more over the years, as the stresses of Arsenal’s decline have mounted up.

Fingers crossed Arsene is buttering up the Real Madrid star in order to sign him for the Gunners!
