Arsenal were unable to recruit a centre-back in the January transfer window, but Unai Emery’s side appear to be keen on putting one in place early for next season.
According to reports, the Gunners are interested in signing Matthias Ginter. The 25-year-old is a Germany international with 23 caps and was on Spurs’ radar before he joined Monchengladbach from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
Ginter has improved and proven to be a valuable asset to Monchenglabach, who are currently second in the Bundelsiga.
Arsenal have shipped 36 goals so far this season – the most out of the top six clubs – and the likes of Shkodran Mustafi have struggled for their best form while others, such as Rob Holding, Laurent Koscielny Hector Bellerin have been out injured.
Ginter could be an option for the Gunners come the next transfer window, which is only four months away,
