Bayern Munich defender David Alaba would prefer a move to Arsenal over joining Jose Mourinho at Man United, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.
The Austria international, who has won five league titles with the German giants, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but would seemingly prefer a switch to join Arsene Wenger’s side, having been a boyhood Gunners fan.
The defender, who can also play comfortably in midfield, would add steel to an Arsenal defence that, should one key man be lost, would be heavily weakened.
The 24-year-old is also vastly experienced for his age, having racked up 235 appearances for Bayern Munich already, and has European pedigree with one Champions League winners medal in his trophy cabinet.
Should the Gunners pip the Red Devils to the signing, it could become a big turning point when we get to the sharp end of the season in the Spring.
