Arsenal are adamant that Alexis Sanchez is going nowhere this summer but the Gunners still have plans to ensure they remain competitive if their quest to retain the services of the Chilean is not successful.

The Gunners can expect a transfer windfall of over £50m if they do approve a sale of Alexis Sanchez this summer, which would more likely see the two-time Copa America winner move abroad rather than Arsenal approving a sale to a Premier League rival, and Wenger would immediately inject that cash back into his side.

The Daily Express states Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Celtic’s phenomenal young forward Mousa Dembele, who enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign with the Scottish treble-winners last season as he scored 32 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions.

Those numbers got Europe’s elite chasing his signature and Arsenal are keen on bringing him to North London if Alexis does leave, potentially utilising Alexandre Lacazette just behind the French forward.

With support from Lacazette and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal will hope Dembele can boast similar numbers in the Premier League but Celtic’s initial demand of £30m for the striker may be raised due to the growing prices in the transfer window.
