I was in Singapore a few months ago and had the privilege of meeting up with Tiong Jin Yan, the Vice President of the official Arsenal Singapore Supporters Club, established in 2004.

Their members (currently stand at 260) are made up of locals and expats from all walks of life with the common bond of supporting Arsenal. The committee is made up of volunteers who devote their own time and energy to keep things working.

The Supporters’ Club aims to enhance the experience of Gooners in Singapore by holding events such as BBQs and to represent the club at charity and social events.

More importantly though, is that they provide an established venue for Gooners to meet regularly and watch games, and what an impressive venue it is.

Their “home” venue to watch games is the Elizabeth Pub and Lounge, inside The Elizabeth Hotel, just off Orchard Road. It’s a great place to watch games, with lots of Arsenal posters and flags on the walls, and a range of comfy seats and bar stools.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a hardcore fan or with your family – there’s room for you. The atmosphere is usually buzzing, with many fans singing Arsenal songs during games. It’s a smoke free venue.

The bar is usually open for Arsenal games that are featured live at weekends, and also for other big occasions. In addition to a full range of drinks, the bar serves tasty snacks and you can order in food from the adjoining Modesto’s restaurant.

It really is an impressive venue and the effort that the club’s committee have put into making it a great place for Gooners is there for all to see. If you’re in Singapore I recommend a visit to the bar to catch-up with your fellow Gooners.

The phone number of the bar is (+65) 67362808. Alternatively, if you want to find out if the bar will be showing a specific game, send an email to the Supporters’ Club.
