Arsenal are interested in a move for Club Brugge forward Noa Lang, with the Gunners looking set to miss out on a deal for Raphinha.

THE LOWDOWN: ALTERNATIVE TARGETS

The Gunners look set to miss out on a deal to bring Leeds United forward Raphinha to the north London, as the Brazilian closes in on a move to fierce rivals Chelsea this summer – this comes after a bid for the Brazilian was rejected by the Yorkshire outfit last week.

Mikel Arteta will be scouring the market for alternative targets and according to reports, they are interested in a deal to bring Lang to England.

The 23-year-old is predominantly a left-winger but he’s showcased some impressive versatility in the early years of his career, featuring as a second striker, attacking midfielder, central midfielder and right-winger too.

With three years left on the deal he signed last summer, he certainly won’t come cheap.

THE LATEST: PLAN B

According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners see the Dutch wizard as a plan B target to Raphinha.

THE VERDICT: SUPPORTERS WILL LOVE HIM

Considering just how impressive Lang was in Belgium last season, the Gunners fans will absolutely love his style, class and mazy dribbling and influence in the attacking third.

Indeed, over his 37 Jupiler Pro League outings last season, the £19.8m-rated sensation was in stunning form for Brugge, bagging seven goals, registering 12 assists whilst creating 19 big chances for his teammates, in addition to taking an average of 2.0 shots, making 1.9 key passes and completing 1.7 dribbles per game.

These returns saw the £20k-per-week talent average a quite astonishing SofaScore match rating of 7.20, ranking him as the Belgian outfit’s joint fifth-best player in the division.

Analyst Filip Joos has described him as ‘the best player in the [Belgian] league’, while retired Dutch player Pierre van Hooijdonk confidently likened him to Robin van Persie.

With Raphinha close to signing for fierce rivals Chelsea, it is clear to see that the signing of a player in Lang’s mould and class would make something of a pleasing alternative for the Gunners fans.

Arsenal will need all the attacking firepower they can get once the new season kicks off early August and the 23-year-old Dutch sensation seems the perfect fit for Arteta’s impressive youthful-looking attack.
