Arsenal’s wealth of changes that will be made this summer will see the Gunners boast a potentially entirely new set-up, with the most crucial change liking to see the North London giants appoint a Director of Football.

Arsene Wenger’s side have struggled to compete this season, as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League and fell in the Champions League quarter-finals following an embarrassing 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.

Arsenal have a list of potential figures to fill a Director of Football role andĀ The GuardianĀ reports the Gunners have approached Borussia Dortmund’s Michael Zorc, as they explore the possibility of bringing the German to the Premier League.

54-year-old Zorc has been crucial to Dortmund’s rise in recent years, overseeing three Bundesliga title winning sides and pushing the club to the final of the Champions League, where they lost to arch-rivals Bayern.

Dortmund’s recruitment has also been excellent, with the German side developing the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mats Hummels and Marco Reus into top-class players and replacing the ones that have left in swift fashion.

The latest flurry of talents at Dortmund includes summer-signing Ousmane Dembele, American ace Christian Pulisic and Turkish youngster Emre Mor.

Zorc has a contract with Dortmund that runs until 2019 but a series of disagreements behind the scenes in Dortmund has raised speculation that core staff members could be on the move this summer.
