Before yesterday’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour launched a special competition for fans that give everything to follow their beloved team.
Supported by Europcar’s Fans of the Season campaign, the Best Travelled Fan will be awarded to a supporter who goes above and beyond the line of duty to follow the Gunners- and they’ll win a signed ball and shirt from the current squad.
Parlour, who secured a Premier League at Old Trafford in 2002, launched the competition on a specially charted barge in Manchester that took a lucky selection of visiting supporters to Old Trafford along the river.
During the journey, Arsenal fans got to mingle with the ‘Romford Pele’ himself and had a chance to ask him about his memories, views of Arsenal this season and, crucially, whether Arsenal can end a 12-year wait for a Premier League crown.
It was a fantastic start to the day and a special experience for those on board, who got their chance via a membership award scheme.
