Arsenal have already begun their search to rebuild their defence ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The Gunners are still manager-less, but are reportedly in talks with several candidates including former captain Mikel Arteta.

However, it seems that despite no man currently in charge of the hierarchy have decided to pursuit new targets.

One man who could be on his way to the Emirates is Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu. As reported by the Metro player’s agent has confirmed that the defender is pushing for a move to the Premier League.

The Turk has made 47 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit since joining the club in 2016 but the 21-year-old is being heavily linked with the Gunners ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Soyuncu, who is valued at £35m, is rumoured to have been in contact with several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

‘Next week we will have some meetings and I think in 10 or 15 days his situation will be clear.

‘They (Freiburg) are open to negotiations.’
