Arsenal have made an approach to Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel about replacing Arsene Wenger this summer, German outlet Bild reports.
The Dortmund boss has impressed after taking the reigns following Jurgen Klopp’s departure in 2015 but his side have struggled to compete with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, although they’re going strong in Europe this season as they’re braced for a Champions League quarter-final showdown with Monaco.
43-year-old Tuchel has established himself as an exciting young manager on the continent and his tactics mean he could prove to be the ideal replacement for Wenger, building upon the team that the French boss has created in North London.
However, Sky Sports report that Arsenal have denied that any approach for Tuchel has been made despite increasing uncertainty on Arsene Wenger’s future, with the club now sat sixth in the Premier League following a third consecutive league defeat on the road.
Arsenal have staggeringly lost four of their last five league games and six of their last nine matches across all competitions, with two of their victories during that run coming against non-league opponents in the FA Cup.
