Arsenal have already made significant additions to their first-team this summer by landing Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke and paying a club-record fee to bring Alexandre Lacazette to the club from Lyon.

However, that record could be surpassed almost immediately as Arsenal are eyeing further additions in the window and The Sun reveals the Gunners have reached a breakthrough in their quest to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

The Ligue 1 champions are reluctant to sell and have been demanding a hefty £80m for Lemar, as they hoped Arsenal’s very public interest would spark a bidding war. As it stands though, the Gunners seem to be the only side interested and a deal is set to be reached for around £45m.

It was reported earlier this month that Lemar had already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and a transfer now seems inevitable- and it will be interesting to see how the Lemar deal affects the future of Alexis Sanchez.
