Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Nicolas Pepe after rumours the Ivorian is a now a top target for Bayern Munich.

Pepe has been on fire for Lille this season, scoring 17 goals and assisted 10 in Ligue 1 so far.

The forward has attracted the attention of Europe’s elite, with suggestions that Bayern Munich are now ready to pounce. The German champions are eyeing Pepe who they see as a longterm replacement for Arjen Robben.

According to beIN Sports in France, Bayern have already tabled an offer of around £70m to try and secure the talented 23-year-old.

The report also says the Bundesliga side’s jersey sponsor Adidas are reportedly set to help them finance the deal, which would be a record Bundesliga and Ligue 1 fee. It appears Unai Emery may have struggle landing this one.
