Arsenal have significantly bolstered their forward ranks this summer with the addition of Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record deal from Lyon but they’ve been offered another big name.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol indicate that Arsene Wenger has been offered the services of Karim Benzema by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who’s keen to raise funds to secure a world-record move to land Kylian Mbappe.

29-year-old French international Benzema has been regularly linked with a move to North London in recent years but Arsenal’s interest cooled this summer following the move for Lacazette, which gives the Gunners the top-class striker they need.

However, that doesn’t necessarily rule-out a move for Benzema as Arsenal still face the risk of losing Alexis Sanchez and the arrival of a two-time Champions League winner, who still has many years ahead of him, would appease frustrated supporters.

If Benzema were to arrive, Lacazette could fill Alexis Sanchez’ role behind the striker and alongside Mesut Ozil- giving Arsenal a deadly three-pronged attacking outlet.
