Arsenal have reportedly received a sensational offer for star-man Alexis Sanchez, with Manchester City said to have offered cash plus England international Raheem Sterling for the Chilean’s services.

The Daily Mirror broke the reports this morning, which are certainly intriguing as it would help Arsenal fill their homegrown quota whilst also providing them with a 22-year-old who fetched a £49m fee just a few years ago.

With Arsenal poised to lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Chelsea, the arrival of Raheem Sterling would boost the Gunners squad- although the loss of Alexis Sanchez would be extremely detrimental, especially to a rival Premier League side.

Arsene Wenger seems to be in a ruthless mood following the disastrous performance in the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday and there have been suggestions indicating he will approve a sale for anyone that wants to leave, as he seeks players who are committed to Arsenal’s cause.

It’s likely to be a busy week for Arsenal but many have questioned the reliability of these reports, as Sterling has improved dramatically under the guidance of Pep Guardiola in the past year and seemed to be on the rise.
