Arsenal’s quest to land a replacement for Arsene Wenger this summer has been given a significant boost, amidst suggestions that a high-profile manager is edging towards an exit following a fall-out with his club.

The Daily Express states Thomas Tuchel has clashed with Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke following the terrorist attack on the team bus that rocked the Bundesliga giants prior to the first-leg of their Champions League showdown with Monaco.

Marc Bartra was left injured in the incident and Tuchel was said to be furious with the decision to approve the fixture to go ahead less than 24 hours later, with the German side falling to defeat against Monaco- clearly affected by the incidents the day before.

Watzke has admitted a clash with Tuchel and speculation now suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s successor in Borussia Dortmund could call time on his spell with the club, which gives Arsenal hope of landing his services this summer.

Wenger’s future at the Emirates Stadium is still shrouded in uncertainty but on-field struggles have made it difficult for the Frenchman to continue his reign, especially amidst claims of a major breakdown in relationship between Wenger and the club’s board.
