Arsenal are eyeing a shock move to bring St Etienne defender Florentin Pogba to the Premier League this summer, according to TeamTalk.

The defender is being eyed amidst potential improvements to the Gunners back-line this summer, where Arsene Wenger could adopt to field a three-man defence regularly after success in the recent victories over Middlesbrough and Manchester City.

Laurent Koscielny, Rob Holding and Gabriel Paulista have impressed during those victories and Arsenal still have Shkodran Mustafi waiting for a return, after the German World Cup winner missed both of those matches.

Despite their squad depth, Wenger is keen to bolster the Gunners back-line further this summer and a move for Florentin Pogba is a possibility- which would see the defender face-off against his brother Paul, who secured a world-record deal with Manchester United last summer.

However, fans may be concerned by the links to Pogba as he doesn’t have a strong injury record in recent seasons, something Arsenal are all too familiar with, and it’s unclear where he’d fit into the Gunners side.

As well as the players already mentioned, Arsenal will also see Calum Chambers return from his loan with Middlesbrough this summer.
